Feed Your Chakras
Did you know that your diet can affect your Chakras and their Balance?
Let’s look at your Base Chakra. Your Base Chakra is located at the base of your spine, and the it’s color is Red. This is the Chakra that keeps us Grounded, and gives structure to life. If it is out of balance you may feel unfocused, anxious and a low libido, these problems may lead to anemia, digestion difficulties, low blood pressure and even impotence. Try maintaining Balance by keeping red foods in your diet, such as Strawberries, cherries, radishes, beets, tomatoes, peppers.
Next, look at your Sacral Chakra, located below your navel. The color for this Chakra is orange. The second chakra is located approximately at the level of your mid-abdomen and governs your emotional body and your physical and emotional feelings and senses. It is the center of sensuality, emotion and pleasure. If this Chakra is out of balance you may show symptoms of Greediness, Addiction, Tension, Compulsivity, Frustration, Disinterest, Repressed Feelings, Self-deprivation, Depression or Sexual Repression. Foods to keep in your diet to help keep this Chakra balanced would be Oranges, carrots, apricots or even pumpkin.
Your Solar Plexus Chakra is located between the lower chest and the navel. Its color is Yellow, and it is associated with Will Power and Self Esteem. You may feel Wishy-washiness, Inability to Concentrate, Naive, Passive, or oblivious if this chakra is out of whack. You can help keep this balanced by adding yellow foods such as Bananas, Lemons, Grapefruits and some squash to your diet.
The Chakra associated with Love and Compassion is the Heart Chakra. It is located in the Heart area, and is green in color. If you are feeling Loneliness, Suspicion, Neediness, Possessiveness, Bossiness, Greediness, Jealousy then your Heart Chakra may need some help. Foods to keep this Chakra healthy would include Apples, Pears, Peas, Greens, Broccoli, and Grapes.
In the Throat area you will find your Throat Chakra. This Chakra is Blue in color and is associated with communication and trust. You may be showing signs of an imbalance if you are experiencing Distraction, Negativity, Resentfulness, Preoccupation with others, or Gullibility. While Blue foods are rather hard to think of immediately, there are a few options. To help keep this Chakra healthy and balanced try adding some blue foods such as Blue Corn, Blue Potatoes, Star Flowers or Billberries to your diet.
Next in line would be your Third Eye, which is Indigo in color and located right between the eyes. This Chakra is associated with Intuition and Truth. Signs of imbalance could be Lack of Imagination, Insensitivity, Self-absorption, or Narrow-mindedness. Eggplants, Beets, Plums, Dates and Blueberries are great choices to help keep your third eye balanced and open.
Last, but by far not least would be the Violet colored Crown Chakra. This is located on the top of the head. The Crown Chakra is associated with Divine Spirituality. Eggplants, Beets, Plums, Dates and Blueberries are all foods whose Violet color can help keep your crown Chakra balanced.
